In order to really help your skin attain optimal health you need to look at many different factors.  Often, we assume if we use a good skincare product, it will contain everything we need, but this is not really the case.  Factors like lifestyle, diet, exercise, and water play an important role in how your skin functions and it's overall health.

 

In saying that skincare is essential to protect and nourish your skin on the outside to keep it healthy,  When choosing a skincare product you need to ask yourself a couple of questions about whether your skin needs the product you're about to purchase.  Knowledge of your skin, how it's functioning and what it needs to thrive is vital to really make a difference.  Often we have more than one issue so you may have to change things up a bit to get the best result.

 

Always start with a nourishing base skincare routine and tailor it to the condition of your skin.  Below I have outlined some basic information and how you can change up your routine to suit the four fundamental skin types.

 

SKIN TYPES

The four fundamental skin types are oily, dry, combination and sensitive.  Today, however there is many shades of grey inbetween.  You can be oily yet your skin can still be dehydrated, for instance, and this is where you can change your routine slightly and still get the benefits.
